Ryan Osborn dished out four assists vs. Ridgewater

Iowa Western Community College opened home portion of its men's soccer schedule Tuesday afternoon in record-setting fashion.

The Reivers set a school mark for goals in a game with a 10-0 win over Ridgewater College.

The Willmar, Minn., school is getting into junior college soccer this season and ran out of gas and into plenty of Reivers. Iowa Western scored seven times in the second half.

"They (Ridgewater) got tired," said Iowa Western coach Ammon Bennett, "and we moved the ball better (in the second half). We were the quicker team, but we didn't use our speed in the first half. It wasn't good soccer."

Travis Irvin, Justin Harrington and Jared Jensen each scored twice for Iowa Western. Jason Gaius, Dan Fischer, Brett Brady (on a penalty kick) and Zach VanWagenen completed the scoring.

Ryan Osborn had four assists. Irvin had two assists; and Tyler Nelson earned one assist.

Joe O'Neil was in the net for the Reivers and was rarely asked to work. He finished with two saves.

The game was a tune-up for a pair of games this weekend in Overland Park against Neosho (Saturday) and Johnson County (Sunday).

"Those will be a much tougher task," said Bennett. "We have to play a much better game."

The Iowa Western women's soccer team returns to action Friday with a match at Dodge City, Kan.
